Marvel Studios is not reacting well, at all, to having its first real box office bomb in 15 years. After years of unprecedented success, including four of the 10 highest-grossing films of all time, the studio’s latest release, The Marvels, is on the opposite end of the spectrum. After about a month in release, the film has begun to taper off its box office run and will be, by far, the lowest-grossing movie in the entire franchise, failing to crack $100 million domestically and only flirting with $200 million worldwide. – Germain Lussier Read More

The year 2023 was a fairly huge one for Marvel and Star Wars shows on Disney+. Marvel brought us Loki season two, What If…?, and Secret Invasion. Star Wars gave us The Mandalorian season three and Ahsoka in live-action, as well as Bad Batch, Visions, and Young Jedi Adventures in animation. Will 2024 live up to that output or will there be less? – Germain Lussier Read More

When one of the biggest stars of a franchise dies, obviously that franchise is no longer going to be the same. Such is the case for the Fast and Furious franchise which, 10 years ago last week, lost one of its original stars, Paul Walker. Since Walker’s death, several films have been made continuing the Fast story, and with each subsequent entry Walker’s character has been treated with an odd disregard and growing disrespect that feels at odds with the series’ universal message of family. – Germain Lussier Read More

But showrunner Russell T. Davies thinks he might have gone a little too far with this week’s anniversary special. – James Whitbrook Read More

Which Christopher Nolan Batman film is your favorite? Most people would say The Dark Knight—which, clearly, is incredible. Personally, my pick is Batman Begins, just because of the way it handles Batman’s origin. And we’d imagine someone out there is just such a big Tom Hardy fan, their favorite is The Dark Knight Rises. – Germain Lussier Read More
